Easington teenager, Charlie Farrer started the 2019 British Talent Cup season in fine style. Two finishes just off the podium have put him third after round one.

The 23 riders got the season underway on the National circuit at Silverstone. The circuit, bathed in sunshine, provided an ideal start and a stark contrast from the opening round in 2018.

Farrer is in his second year of the British Talent Cup and convincingly put in his best performance of the competition so far. In both races, he battled at the front. In race one he crossed the line fourth just 0.149 seconds behind the race winner in a fantastically tight battle.

In the second race Farrer finished in sixth position 0.453 seconds from victory as a stream of eight riders crossed the finish line within a second of each other.

Charlie Farrer’s previous best result was a tenth place at the Assen circuit, a performance he repeated the round after at Valencia.

“Words can’t describe how I’m feeling after the weekend, even though I missed out on the podium the fact I was so close both times is a fantastic boost,”

“I knew late last year that I could be a contender this season now I know how to get the best out of the Moto3 bike and this has been the perfect start to the year,” Farrer said.
