Cameron Horsman couldn’t have celebrated his 18th birthday in a better way as he took victory in the Hel Performance British Motostar standard class race.

Having recently taken a third place and a victory in the opening round of the British Talent Cup, Horsman has drawn first blood in the British Motostar standard class.

Horsman, one of the favourites for the standard class title this year came out victorious over another of the main title challengers Scott Ogden. Ogden crossed the line just 0.155 seconds behind Horsman as the two battled throughout the ten lap race.

In third place was Charlie Farrer. Although he was 8.536 seconds behind the leading pair it was with some fortune that he was here at all. Farrer rides for the Banks Racing team, but with Pete Banks hospitalised he was on a borrowed machine with his Dad as his mechanic.

Rhys Irwin and Franco Bourne completed the top five.

Abbz Thomas crossed the line in eighth place and cut more than 3 seconds off her previous best time in a race at this circuit.
