Max Cook has already competed in two rounds of the Moto3 Junior World Championship this year and this weekend starts his second season in the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

The Red Bull Rookies will be racing at the MotoGP event in Jerez from 3 to 5 May 2019. There are two races in Jerez where the 25 rookies will be competing on identical KTM RC 250 Rs.

Yuki Kunii is one of the favourites and in a rich vein of form. He stood on the podium twice at the last Moto3 JWC round in Valencia, including taking a race victory. He leads the championship.

Belgian Barry Baltus also competes in the Red Bull Rookies and was the race winner at the opening Moto3 Junior World Championship race in Estoril.

Max Cook has acquitted himself well for the British Talent Team scoring points at both the opening round in Estoril and the second at Valencia.

In 2018 Cook scored 28 points in the Rookies with a best position of eighth at the Sachsenring.

At the Red Bull Rookies test at Jerez early this year, Cook managed to strike over a second off his lap time from 2018 and was consistently inside the top ten.

The first Red Bull Rookies race gets underway at 15:30 UK time on Saturday with race 2 14:30 on the Sunday afternoon. You can watch the racing live on www.redbull.tv.
