Charlie Atkins finished British Talent Cup Free Practice Friday on the National circuit at Silverstone, at the top of the timesheet with his FP2 lap time of 1:02.197. It was an incredibly tight field with former Wilson Racing teammate Jack Hart just one-thousandth of a second behind him in second. Charlie Farrer was third quickest ending FP2 another thousandth of a second behind Hart.
Longtime front-runner during both FP1 and FP2, Scott Ogden, won’t be too dismayed to have finished fourth overall as his lap time was only 0.007 seconds off the fastest and the important qualifying session comes tomorrow morning.

In the closing minutes, positions changed regularly and FP1 ended with Jack Nixon’s 1:03.090 putting him at the front. Scott Ogden was second quickest 0.078 seconds back with Charlie Atkins coming through late on to finish 0.214 behind Nixon.

The second thirty-minute free practice session was sunny and the track had warmed up to more than 36 degrees.
Scott Ogden was again quick to post a good lap time with Atkins, Jack Hart and Cameron Horsman in the early running. Nixon headed to the top of the timesheets with ten minutes remaining, however, the timing sheets appeared to deceive the eyes as Farrer posted a 1:02.199. Hart then led Farrer by 0.001 seconds and then Atkins squeezed ahead by the same slender margin over Jack Hart.
