Victor Rodriguez has, hopefully temporarily, had to pull out of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3 Junior World Championship.
The number 19 from Piedralaves competed in the first two rounds of the championship. In the wet at Estoril he suffered technical issues and had to start the race from the back of the grid. Despite this setback he rode through the field to finish in a very commendable tenth place.
Unfortunately, whilst he has had some great support from sponsors, in the end, he was unable to find a sufficient number of them to continue at this level. As a result, Victor Rodriguez didn’t go to Le Mans and will not be competing in the series further unless the funding shortage can be bridged.
The situation is not unfamiliar for many riders but comes at a time when Rodriguez himself believes he is in the best form physically and mentally of his whole career.
The family are doing what they can to try and get Rodriguez back into the championship. Meanwhile, the reigning Hel Performance British Motostar standard class Champion will continue to ride in the GP class on the DR Moto for GA Competition.
His next race will be over the weekend of 14 to 16 June 2019 on the Brand Hatch GP circuit.
